HEBREWS BY HEART

Privacy Policy

Hebrews by Heart for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, and its album pages on the web. Last updated October 23, 2026.

The short version. Hebrews by Heart does not know who you are. There is no account, no sign-in, no advertising and no tracking. To count plays and to see which songs people finish or skip, the app and the album pages send a few facts about what was played, tied only to a random number made on your device. Nothing else leaves your device.

What stays on your device

Your stars, scores, streak, the verses you have learned, your favorites, the chapter you were last on and your settings are saved on your iPhone or iPad only. They are never sent to us or to anyone else. Deleting the app deletes them.

The recordings and songs

The reading of Hebrews and the songs are built into the app. The listening backgrounds (the fireplace, the cathedral and the rest) and the illuminated letters are pictures and silent videos loaded from our server, ispress.de, the first time you choose them.

Play counts

Starting with version 1.1, after a song or a chapter of the reading has played for 30 seconds, the app sends our server, ispress.de, one short note. When you stop listening it sends another. Together they say:

We use these notes only to count plays (the “Most Played” songs everyone sees) and to learn which songs people finish and which they skip, so we can make better ones. They are kept on our own server, are not linked to you, are not shared or sold, and are never used for advertising. The album pages at ispress.de/hebrews/songs and paulwhitehorn.com/hebrews/songs send the same notes, with “web” in place of the device.

The free week and the unlock

The free week and the one-time unlock are handled entirely by Apple through your Apple Account. We never see your name, your email address or your payment details. The app only asks Apple whether the free week is running or the app has been unlocked on your account. Apple's own privacy policy applies to these purchases.

The daily reminder

If you turn on the daily reminder in the app, your device shows it at the time you choose. It is scheduled on your device and nothing is sent to us.

What we do not do

This web page loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google to fetch them. The app itself does not.

Children

Hebrews by Heart is suitable for families. It does not ask anyone for personal information and does not knowingly collect any. The play counts above contain none.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
